Congratulations to Grace Buffington on being voted best all around athlete of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. Each year our SACS Varsity Head Coaches vote for the top Male and Female athletes for the given year. In order to be considered for this award you must be a senior and a two sport athlete. When evaluating the candidates for this award, individual accomplishments are taken into consideration along with character and overall team impact.
This year, Grace played Volleyball and was set to run track for this upcoming spring season. Given the restrictions put in place by COVID-19 athletes that were on a spring roster for this upcoming season were considered for this honor. Grace had a huge impact on the 2019 Track State Championship team last spring and had high hopes of repeating that championship this spring. Grace was a State Champion in Track in the 4×100 relay, 4×200 Relay, and State runner-up in the 4×400 relay. Grace has also contributed to the Varsity Volleyball team and their run to the State Tournament for the past 3 years. This year, Grace earned TAPPS 5A All Tournament team at the State tournament for her outstanding performance against Holy Cross in the Semi-Final Match.
Congratulations Grace and all athletes that were candidates for this award.
